Project Overview
The construction strategy focused on creating a residence capable of responding to both the demands of the Cretan climate and the expectations of contemporary Mediterranean living. Structural integrity, carefully selected materials and attention to craftsmanship informed every stage of the project, resulting in a home designed for durability as much as architectural expression.
Occupying an elevated position above Kalyves, the villa was carefully oriented to maximise natural light and uninterrupted views across Souda Bay. Rather than dominating the landscape, the architecture follows the natural topography of the site, allowing the building to sit comfortably within its surroundings while maintaining a strong contemporary identity.
Interior Design & Living Spaces
The ground floor level consists of 2 story high ceilings and a huge open plan kitchen, living and dining area.
The basement level is accessed from the rear of the ground floor level using an internal staircase. This 80sqm offers a lounge area, a 4th bedroom , full bathroom, hamam, utility room.
There are glass bi-folding doors that can open all the way making this area the perfect space for indoor and outdoor use. The ultra modern kitchen sits at the back of the open plan area with views across the living room out onto the front terrace, garden and swimming pool. There is also a guest toilet on the ground floor.
The 1st floor has access from the main living area by the standout custom made wooden and steel floating internal staircase.
